OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The cultivation of land by farmers under the Punjab Agricultural Produce Markets Act, 1961, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Social Welfare Department, Government of Punjab on the manner in which the cultivation of land by farmers is to be regulated under the Punjab Agricultural Produce Markets Act, 1961.

2. The matter has been examined. Every farmer carrying on the cultivation of land shall make an application in Form A to the Director of Agriculture within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the cultivation of land is undertaken, and the Director of Agriculture shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Punjab.
