STANDING ORDER

All Rent Controllers,

Subject: The development of plots by owners of a plotted development under the Maharashtra Rent Control Act, 1999, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Rent Control Act, 1999 (Maharashtra Act 18 of 1999), the Housing Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the development of plots by owners of a plotted development.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a plotted development carrying on the development of plots shall make an application in Form A to the Registrar of Co-operative Housing Societies within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Rent Controller shall ensure that project is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar of Co-operative Housing Societies within one hundred and eighty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Housing Department, Government of Maharashtra.
