STANDING ORDER

To

All Naib Tahsildars,

Subject: The sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land under the Puducherry Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1973, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Puducherry Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1973 (Puducherry Act 9 of 1973), the Labour Department, Government of Puducherry hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a well on Government land carrying on the sinking of a well on Government land shall make an application in Form 2 to the Sub-Divisional Officer within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Naib Tahsildar shall ensure that khasra is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Sub-Divisional Officer within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Puducherry.
