STANDING ORDER

To

All Sub-Inspectors of Excise,

Subject: The sale of liquor for consumption on the premises by bar licensees under the Uttar Pradesh Excise Act, 1910, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Excise Act, 1910 (Uttar Pradesh Act 4 of 1910), the Labour Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sale of liquor for consumption on the premises by bar licensees.

2. The matter has been examined. Every bar licensee carrying on the sale of liquor for consumption on the premises shall make an application in Form A to the Government of Uttar Pradesh within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. The Sub-Inspector of Excise shall ensure that licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Uttar Pradesh within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
