STANDING ORDER

To

All Probation Officers,

Subject: The running of a children's home by operators of a children's home under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Woman Act, 2002, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Woman Act, 2002 (Tamil Nadu Act 44 of 2002), the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a children's home by operators of a children's home.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a children's home carrying on the running of a children's home shall make an application in Form VII to the District Magistrate within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Probation Officer shall ensure that register of children is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Magistrate within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
