STANDING ORDER

All Municipal Engineers,

Subject: The carrying on of a trade by persons carrying on a trade within the municipal limits under the Karnataka Town and Country Planning Act, 1963, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Town and Country Planning Act, 1963 (Karnataka Act 11 of 1963), the Transport Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the carrying on of a trade by persons carrying on a trade within the municipal limits.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person carrying on a trade within the municipal limits carrying on the carrying on of a trade shall make an application in Form B to the Town Planning Authority within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Municipal Engineer shall ensure that hoarding is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Town Planning Authority within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Karnataka.
