STANDING ORDER
To
All Motor Vehicles Inspectors,
Subject: The driving of a motor vehicle by drivers under the Kerala Motor Transport Workers Welfare Fund Act, 1985, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Motor Transport Workers Welfare Fund Act, 1985 (Kerala Act 21 of 1985), the Labour Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the driving of a motor vehicle by drivers.
2. The matter has been examined. Every driver carrying on the driving of a motor vehicle shall make an application in Form 20 to the State Transport Appellate Tribunal within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.
3. The Motor Vehicles Inspector shall ensure that toll is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Transport Appellate Tribunal within forty-five days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Kerala.
