OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The manufacture of cosmetics by manufacturers of cosmetics under the Maharashtra Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1949, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the manufacture of cosmetics by manufacturers of cosmetics is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1949.

2. The matter has been examined. Every manufacturer of cosmetics carrying on the manufacture of cosmetics shall make an application in Form 28 to the National Medical Commission within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the manufacture of cosmetics is undertaken, and the National Medical Commission shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra.
