OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The distribution of films by distributors of films under the Tamil Nadu Exhibition of Films on Television Screen through Video Cassette Recorders (Regulation) Act, 1984, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the distribution of films by distributors of films is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Exhibition of Films on Television Screen through Video Cassette Recorders (Regulation) Act, 1984.
2. The matter has been examined. Every distributor of films carrying on the distribution of films shall make an application in Form II to the Press Registrar within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the distribution of films is undertaken, and the Press Registrar shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
