OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Residence in a prohibited area by persons residing in a prohibited area under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Labour Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh on the manner in which residence in a prohibited area by persons residing in a prohibited area is to be regulated under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person residing in a prohibited area carrying on residence in a prohibited area shall make an application in Form D to the Government of Uttar Pradesh within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which residence in a prohibited area is undertaken, and the Government of Uttar Pradesh shall dispose of it within twenty-one days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
