OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The operation of a ferry by operators of a ferry under the Tamil Nadu Maritime Board Act, 1995, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Ports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the operation of a ferry by operators of a ferry is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Maritime Board Act, 1995.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a ferry carrying on the operation of a ferry shall make an application in Form 2 to the Conservator of the Port within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the operation of a ferry is undertaken, and the Conservator of the Port shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
