OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The placement of domestic workers by placement agencies under the Maharashtra State Commission for Women Act, 1993, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the placement of domestic workers by placement agencies is to be regulated under the Maharashtra State Commission for Women Act, 1993.

2. The matter has been examined. Every placement agency carrying on the placement of domestic workers shall make an application in Form VII to the District Child Protection Unit within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the placement of domestic workers is undertaken, and the District Child Protection Unit shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Maharashtra.
