STANDING ORDER

To

All Circle Officers,

Subject: The sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land under the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885 (Bihar Act 8 of 1885), the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Bihar hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a well on Government land carrying on the sinking of a well on Government land shall make an application in Form 1 to the Land Tribunal within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Circle Officer shall ensure that patta is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Land Tribunal within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Bihar.
