STANDING ORDER

To

All Maintenance Officers,

Subject: The management of a waqf by mutawallis under the Maharashtra Regulation of Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages Act, 1998, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Regulation of Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages Act, 1998 (Maharashtra Act 20 of 1998), the Information Technology Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the management of a waqf by mutawallis.

2. The matter has been examined. Every mutawalli carrying on the management of a waqf shall make an application in Form I to the Central Adoption Resource Authority within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Maintenance Officer shall ensure that inventory of the estate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Central Adoption Resource Authority within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information Technology Department, Government of Maharashtra.
