STANDING ORDER
To
All Inspectors of Chits,
Subject: The business of clearing and forwarding by clearing and forwarding agents under the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017 (Maharashtra Act 61 of 2017), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the business of clearing and forwarding by clearing and forwarding agents.
2. The matter has been examined. Every clearing and forwarding agent carrying on the business of clearing and forwarding shall make an application in Form G to the Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.
3. The Inspector of Chits shall ensure that register of contracts is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority within thirty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra.
