OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The plying of a tractor for hire by owners of a tractor plying for hire under the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the plying of a tractor for hire by owners of a tractor plying for hire is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a tractor plying for hire carrying on the plying of a tractor for hire shall make an application in Form 2 to the Block Development Officer within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the plying of a tractor for hire is undertaken, and the Block Development Officer shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
