STANDING ORDER

To

All Circle Officers,

Subject: The conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use by person converting agricultural lands under the Bihar Land Reforms Act, 1950, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bihar Land Reforms Act, 1950 (Bihar Act 30 of 1950), the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Bihar hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use by person converting agricultural lands.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person converting agricultural land carrying on the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use shall make an application in Form 1 to the Revenue Divisional Officer within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Circle Officer shall ensure that record of rights is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Revenue Divisional Officer within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Bihar.
