STANDING ORDER

To

All Superintendents of the Copying Department,

Subject: The standing as surety for a party by sureties under the Uttar Pradesh Civil Laws (Reforms and Amendment) Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Civil Laws (Reforms and Amendment) Act, 1954 (Uttar Pradesh Act 24 of 1954), the Law Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the standing as surety for a party by sureties.

2. The matter has been examined. Every surety carrying on the standing as surety for a party shall make an application in Form E to the High Court within seven days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. The Superintendent of the Copying Department shall ensure that summons is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the High Court within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
