STANDING ORDER

To

All Patwaris,

Subject: The sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land under the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953 (Punjab Act 10 of 1953), the Information Technology Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a well on Government land carrying on the sinking of a well on Government land shall make an application in Form 12 to the Tahsildar within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. The Patwari shall ensure that parcel of land is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within one hundred and eighty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information Technology Department, Government of Punjab.
