OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The transmission of programmes by cable by cable operators under the Maharashtra Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1953, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the transmission of programmes by cable by cable operators is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1953.

2. The matter has been examined. Every cable operator carrying on the transmission of programmes by cable shall make an application in Form III to the Government of Maharashtra within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the transmission of programmes by cable is undertaken, and the Government of Maharashtra shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Maharashtra.
