STANDING ORDER

To

All Nautical Surveyors,

Subject: The operation of a vessel by owners of a vessel under the Tamil Nadu Maritime Board Act, 1995, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Maritime Board Act, 1995 (Tamil Nadu Act 4 of 1995), the Ports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a vessel by owners of a vessel.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a vessel carrying on the operation of a vessel shall make an application in Form 5 to the Port Authority within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. The Nautical Surveyor shall ensure that vessel is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Port Authority within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
