STANDING ORDER

To

All Inspecting Officers,

Subject: The operation of a community radio station by community radio stations under the Tamil Nadu Exhibition of Films on Television Screen through Video Cassette Recorders (Regulation) Act, 1984, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Exhibition of Films on Television Screen through Video Cassette Recorders (Regulation) Act, 1984 (Tamil Nadu Act 7 of 1984), the Energy Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a community radio station by community radio stations.

2. The matter has been examined. Every community radio station carrying on the operation of a community radio station shall make an application in Form III to the Broadcasting Authority within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Inspecting Officer shall ensure that periodical is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Broadcasting Authority within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Energy Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
