OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The sale of goods by auction by auctioneers under the Bombay Money-Lenders Act, 1946, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the sale of goods by auction by auctioneers is to be regulated under the Bombay Money-Lenders Act, 1946.

2. The matter has been examined. Every auctioneer carrying on the sale of goods by auction shall make an application in Form C to the Government of Maharashtra within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the sale of goods by auction is undertaken, and the Government of Maharashtra shall dispose of it within twenty-one days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra.
