OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The holding of a fair by licensees of a fair under the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Law Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the holding of a fair by licensees of a fair is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee of a fair carrying on the holding of a fair shall make an application in Form 7 to the Gram Sabha within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the holding of a fair is undertaken, and the Gram Sabha shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
