OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The keeping of a hotel by keepers of a hotel under the Karnataka Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1962, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Tourism Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the keeping of a hotel by keepers of a hotel is to be regulated under the Karnataka Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1962.

2. The matter has been examined. Every keeper of a hotel carrying on the keeping of a hotel shall make an application in Form III to the Museum Board within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the keeping of a hotel is undertaken, and the Museum Board shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Karnataka.
