STANDING ORDER

To

All Insurance Inspectors,

Subject: The receipt of benefits as a nominee by nominees of an insured person under the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978 (Kerala Act 20 of 1978), the Finance Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the receipt of benefits as a nominee by nominees of an insured person.

2. The matter has been examined. Every nominee of an insured person carrying on the receipt of benefits as a nominee shall make an application in Form 3 to the appropriate Government within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Insurance Inspector shall ensure that claim is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the appropriate Government within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Kerala.
