STANDING ORDER
To
All Patwaris,
Subject: The cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers under the Puducherry Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1973, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Puducherry Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1973 (Puducherry Act 9 of 1973), the Housing Department, Government of Puducherry hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers.
2. The matter has been examined. Every sharecropper carrying on the cultivation of land as a sharecropper shall make an application in Form 2 to the Land Tribunal within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.
3. The Patwari shall ensure that register of holdings is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Land Tribunal within forty-five days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Housing Department, Government of Puducherry.
