STANDING ORDER
To
All Assistants Commissioner of Excise,
Subject: The sale of liquor for consumption on the premises by bar licensees under the Bombay Prohibition Act, 1949, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bombay Prohibition Act, 1949 (Maharashtra Act 25 of 1949), the Excise Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sale of liquor for consumption on the premises by bar licensees.
2. The matter has been examined. Every bar licensee carrying on the sale of liquor for consumption on the premises shall make an application in Form E to the Commissioner within ten days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.
3. The Assistant Commissioner of Excise shall ensure that cask is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Commissioner within ten days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Excise Department, Government of Maharashtra.
