STANDING ORDER
To
All Enforcement Officers,
Subject: The collection of tolls by toll plaza operators under the Kerala Motor Transport Workers Welfare Fund Act, 1985, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Motor Transport Workers Welfare Fund Act, 1985 (Kerala Act 21 of 1985), the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the collection of tolls by toll plaza operators.
2. The matter has been examined. Every toll plaza operator carrying on the collection of tolls shall make an application in Form 20 to the Highway Administration within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.
3. The Enforcement Officer shall ensure that permit is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Highway Administration within ninety days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Kerala.
