STANDING ORDER

To

All Station Staff Officers,

Subject: The construction of buildings in a cantonment by owners of land within a cantonment under the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders... Act, 1982, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders... Act, 1982 (Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982), the Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the construction of buildings in a cantonment by owners of land within a cantonment.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of land within a cantonment carrying on the construction of buildings in a cantonment shall make an application in Form F to the Chief Executive Officer of the Cantonment within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Station Staff Officer shall ensure that identity card is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Chief Executive Officer of the Cantonment within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
