STANDING ORDER
To
All Assistants Commissioner of Excise,
Subject: Dealing in excisable articles by dealers under the Punjab Excise Act, 1914, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 (Punjab Act 1 of 1914), the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to dealing in excisable articles by dealers.
2. The matter has been examined. Every dealer carrying on dealing in excisable articles shall make an application in Form H to the District Excise Officer within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.
3. The Assistant Commissioner of Excise shall ensure that licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Excise Officer within fourteen days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Punjab.
