OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The printing of a periodical by printers under the Karnataka Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1964, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Labour Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the printing of a periodical by printers is to be regulated under the Karnataka Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1964.

2. The matter has been examined. Every printer carrying on the printing of a periodical shall make an application in Form II to the Press Council within seven days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the printing of a periodical is undertaken, and the Press Council shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Karnataka.
