STANDING ORDER

All Ground Water Officers,

Subject: The operation of a water supply scheme by operators of a water supply scheme under the Karnataka Irrigation Act, 1965, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Irrigation Act, 1965 (Karnataka Act 16 of 1965), the Water Resources Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a water supply scheme by operators of a water supply scheme.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a water supply scheme carrying on the operation of a water supply scheme shall make an application in Form C to the Board within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Ground Water Officer shall ensure that water meter is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Board within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Karnataka.
