STANDING ORDER

To

All Regionals Officer of the Board,

Subject: The provision of direct-to-home broadcasting services by direct-to-home operators under the Andhra Pradesh Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1955, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Andhra Pradesh Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1955 (Andhra Pradesh Act 4 of 1955), the General Administration Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the provision of direct-to-home broadcasting services by direct-to-home operators.

2. The matter has been examined. Every direct-to-home operator carrying on the provision of direct-to-home broadcasting services shall make an application in Form VIII to the Press Council within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Regional Officer of the Board shall ensure that programme is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Press Council within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
