OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The retail vend of liquor by retail vendors under the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of West Bengal on the manner in which the retail vend of liquor by retail vendors is to be regulated under the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909.

2. The matter has been examined. Every retail vendor carrying on the retail vend of liquor shall make an application in Form H to the Government of West Bengal within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the retail vend of liquor is undertaken, and the Government of West Bengal shall dispose of it within fourteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of West Bengal.
