STANDING ORDER

All Ground Water Officers,

Subject: Fishing in a reservoir by licensees of a fishery in a reservoir under the Kerala Irrigation and Water Conservation Act, 2003, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Irrigation and Water Conservation Act, 2003 (Kerala Act 31 of 2003), the Information Technology Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to fishing in a reservoir by licensees of a fishery in a reservoir.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee of a fishery in a reservoir carrying on fishing in a reservoir shall make an application in Form D to the Dam Safety Authority within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Ground Water Officer shall ensure that water course is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Dam Safety Authority within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information Technology Department, Government of Kerala.
