STANDING ORDER

To

All District Social Welfare Officers,

Subject: The manufacture of assistive devices by manufacturers of assistive devices under the Tamil Nadu Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of Seats) Act, 1994, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of Seats) Act, 1994 (Tamil Nadu Act 45 of 1994), the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the manufacture of assistive devices by manufacturers of assistive devices.

2. The matter has been examined. Every manufacturer of assistive devices carrying on the manufacture of assistive devices shall make an application in Form VI to the Rehabilitation Council within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The District Social Welfare Officer shall ensure that certificate of disability is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Rehabilitation Council within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
