STANDING ORDER

All Plant Protection Officers,

Subject: The running of a cold storage by operators of a cold storage under the Karnataka Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation and Development) Act, 1966, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation and Development) Act, 1966 (Karnataka Act 27 of 1966), the Finance Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a cold storage by operators of a cold storage.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a cold storage carrying on the running of a cold storage shall make an application in Form C to the Director of Agriculture within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Plant Protection Officer shall ensure that fertiliser is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Agriculture within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Karnataka.
