STANDING ORDER

To

All Medical Officers,

Subject: The practice of Indian medicine by practitioners of Indian medicine under the Karnataka Private Medical Establishments Act, 2007, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Private Medical Establishments Act, 2007 (Karnataka Act 21 of 2007), the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the practice of Indian medicine by practitioners of Indian medicine.

2. The matter has been examined. Every practitioner of Indian medicine carrying on the practice of Indian medicine shall make an application in Form 29 to the Government of Karnataka within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. The Medical Officer shall ensure that establishment is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Karnataka within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka.
