OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The care of children in an institution by child care institutions under the Maharashtra Regulation of Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages Act, 1998, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Law Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the care of children in an institution by child care institutions is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Regulation of Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages Act, 1998.

2. The matter has been examined. Every child care institution carrying on the care of children in an institution shall make an application in Form VI to the District Registrar within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the care of children in an institution is undertaken, and the District Registrar shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Maharashtra.
