OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of a shelter for the homeless by operators of a shelter for the homeless under the Tamil Nadu Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of Seats) Act, 1994, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the running of a shelter for the homeless by operators of a shelter for the homeless is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of Seats) Act, 1994.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a shelter for the homeless carrying on the running of a shelter for the homeless shall make an application in Form III to the Government of Tamil Nadu within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a shelter for the homeless is undertaken, and the Government of Tamil Nadu shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
