OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The generation of hazardous waste by generators of hazardous waste under the Kerala Forest Act, 1961, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Kerala on the manner in which the generation of hazardous waste by generators of hazardous waste is to be regulated under the Kerala Forest Act, 1961.

2. The matter has been examined. Every generator of hazardous waste carrying on the generation of hazardous waste shall make an application in Form III to the Government of Kerala within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the generation of hazardous waste is undertaken, and the Government of Kerala shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Kerala.
