New Delhi, dated the 22nd May, 2011

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The discharge of effluent into a stream by person discharging effluent into a streams under the Delhi Jal Board Act, 1998, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Energy Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi on the manner in which the discharge of effluent into a stream by person discharging effluent into a streams is to be regulated under the Delhi Jal Board Act, 1998.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person discharging effluent into a stream carrying on the discharge of effluent into a stream shall make an application in Form G to the Ground Water Authority within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the discharge of effluent into a stream is undertaken, and the Ground Water Authority shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Energy Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
