STANDING ORDER

All Revenue Inspectors,

Subject: The holding of Government land on lease by lessees of Government land under the Gujarat Agricultural Lands Ceiling Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Agricultural Lands Ceiling Act, 1961 (Gujarat Act 27 of 1961), the Revenue Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of Government land on lease by lessees of Government land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every lessee of Government land carrying on the holding of Government land on lease shall make an application in Form 5 to the Board of Revenue within seven days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. The Revenue Inspector shall ensure that land revenue receipt is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Board of Revenue within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Gujarat.
