OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The use of water for industry by users of water for industry under the Bengal Irrigation Act, 1876, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Home Department, Government of West Bengal on the manner in which the use of water for industry by users of water for industry is to be regulated under the Bengal Irrigation Act, 1876.

2. The matter has been examined. Every user of water for industry carrying on the use of water for industry shall make an application in Form D to the Dam Safety Authority within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the use of water for industry is undertaken, and the Dam Safety Authority shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of West Bengal.
