OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The employment of building workers by employers of building workers under the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1962, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Finance Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the employment of building workers by employers of building workers is to be regulated under the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1962.

2. The matter has been examined. Every employer of building workers carrying on the employment of building workers shall make an application in Form VII to the Licensing Officer within ten days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the employment of building workers is undertaken, and the Licensing Officer shall dispose of it within ten days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Karnataka.
