STANDING ORDER

To

All Circle Officers,

Subject: The holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling under the Kerala Land Assignment Act, 1960, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Land Assignment Act, 1960 (Kerala Act 30 of 1960), the General Administration Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling.

2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of land in excess of the ceiling carrying on the holding of land in excess of the ceiling shall make an application in Form 1 to the Board of Revenue within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Circle Officer shall ensure that land revenue receipt is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Board of Revenue within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Kerala.
