STANDING ORDER

To

All Revenue Inspectors,

Subject: The holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling under the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953 (Punjab Act 10 of 1953), the Water Resources Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling.

2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of land in excess of the ceiling carrying on the holding of land in excess of the ceiling shall make an application in Form 14 to the Board of Revenue within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Revenue Inspector shall ensure that patta is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Board of Revenue within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Punjab.
