STANDING ORDER
To
All Assessors,
Subject: The occupation of premises by occupiers under the Chennai City Municipal Corporation Act, 1919, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Chennai City Municipal Corporation Act, 1919 (Tamil Nadu Act 4 of 1919), the Urban Development Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the occupation of premises by occupiers.
2. The matter has been examined. Every occupier carrying on the occupation of premises shall make an application in Form H to the Town Vending Committee within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.
3. The Assessor shall ensure that street is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Town Vending Committee within fifteen days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Urban Development Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
