STANDING ORDER

To

All Canal Officers,

Subject: The execution of canal works by contractors for canal works under the Maharashtra Irrigation Act, 1976, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Irrigation Act, 1976 (Maharashtra Act 38 of 1976), the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the execution of canal works by contractors for canal works.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contractor for canal works carrying on the execution of canal works shall make an application in Form E to the Government of Maharashtra within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Canal Officer shall ensure that reservoir is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Maharashtra within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra.
